Drumgrange wins DE&S contract for support of Sonar Systems
February 2016
Drumgrange has been awarded a contract for the support and advancement of sonar systems, sonar calibrations and related equipment for the JC026 Project.
The contract, which was awarded by Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) is valued at approximately £4.8 million over three years.
This is one of the most important contracts delivered by Drumgrange and the third time the company has won the JC026 contract. The initial contract was secured in 1999 and re-competed in 2002 and 2007. The contract was won in competition against some of the world's largest defence contractors and builds upon Drumgrange's strategy of providing high-quality services and equipment to meet demanding frontline military operations.
The contract will be managed from Drumgrange's Portland site and will utilise the company's extensive platform integration expertise and in-service support specialised facilities which include an anechoic water tank for testing sonar systems.
Drumgrange Managing Director George Howe, who was involved with the original equipment design and sea trials commented:
"Securing the JC0 contract for the third time reflects the dedication, professionalism and 'can do' attitude of the support and trials team while demonstrating the MOD's continued confidence in the company's ability to deliver critical capabilities for the Armed Forces".
